SUMMARY

  •  Harley-Davidson's new upcoming Hydra-Glide Revival will feature a Milwaukee Eight 114 engine with 94 horsepower and 117.3 pound-feet of torque.
  •  The dimensions of the Hydra-Glide Revival will be larger than the Heritage Classic.
  •  Harley-Davidson is set to reveal the Hydra-Glide Revival this year

few weeks back, we told you Harley-Davidson was readying a new cruiser for its 2024 Icon Collection. Leaked CARB (California Air Resources Board) filings suggested a new Hydra-Glide Revival is in the works, which would pay homage to the company’s first cruiser with telescopic forks. Now, more information about the upcoming motorcycle has come to light via H-D’s filings in Switzerland. This gives away some key specs, and you can check them out below.

The Upcoming H-D Hydra-Glide Revival Will Employ The Milwaukee Eight 114 Engine

According to the documents, the Hydra-Glide Revival will draw power from Harley’s Milwaukee Eight 114 engine. Drawn from the Heritage Classic, it displaces 1,868 cubic centimeters, has two cylinders, and air cooling to produce 94 horsepower and 117.3 pound-feet. While the horsepower is the same, the latter is two less than the 2024 Heritage Classic. The 108 miles per hour claimed top speed, six-speed transmission, and chain drive remain unchanged, though.

The Upcoming H-D Hydra-Glide Revival Will Be Bigger Than The Heritage Classic

Also revealed in the documents are the Hydra-Glide Revival’s dimensions. The new cruiser measures 0.8 inches wider and 3.5 inches taller than the Heritage Classic while boasting the same 95.1-inch length. Likewise, the weight is up by 4.4 inches over the hefty 697-pound Heritage. The larger dimensions and higher weight both hint the new motorcycle will have extra components. Looking at last year’s Electra Glide Highway King, these components could be:

  • New spring-loaded suspension
  • Steel skirts
  • Fishtail exhaust
  • Long windshield
  • White-wall tires

Speaking of tires, the cruiser will ride on a set of 16-inch wheels, wrapped in 130/160-section rubber. Yes, that’s exactly the same as the bike it’s based on.

Harley-Davidson Will Reveal The Hydra-Glide Revival This Year

Such details all but confirm the upcoming cruiser (official name FLI Hydra-Glide Revival) is ever close to its public reveal. Early Spring seems like the probable period, considering the Highway King debuted during the same period last year. Whenever it’s here, the new motorcycle will have a set production limit (just like the previous Icons). For reference, only 1,750 units of the Highway King went on sale last year, each priced at $26,999.

Oh, and as a refresher, the cruiser will pay homage to the OG Hydra-Glide. The old cruiser debuted in 1949, serving duty as Harley-Davidson’s first-ever model with telescopic front forks. It marked a massive step in the company’s otherwise springer fork-equipped lineup. 2024 marks the 75th anniversary of the OG, which further justifies the incoming Icon.

So with the specs out, are you excited about the Hydra-Glide’s revival? Tell us in the comments.
